For one thing, you can’t look anywhere right now without a product containing CBD. It appears to be everywhere, and there’s a good reason for that as it has been touted as having multiple health benefits.
It’s available in many different forms such as; CBD lattes, spas with CBD infused facials, potions and lotions and even in gummies format. Hashtag Yummy, I hear you say.
This is all great news and I reckon a good in-direct benefit in normalising Cannabis across society, perhaps forging the way for legalisation across the board and removing or at least reducing the stigma that still exists in UK and beyond, today.
So, as our title asks, what is CBD?
According to Health.com: CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a chemical compound from the cannabis plant. It's a naturally occurring substance that's used in products like oils to impart a feeling of relaxation and calm. Unlike its cousin tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), it's not psychoactive.
In other words, it doesn’t get you high (unless of course it has a percentage of THC in it). To find out more about THC, check this blog post out on the Dicount Cannabis Seeds website. (*Mark, please put a link here to the published THC blog post from yesterday).
What are the benefits?
CBS as a commercial, publicly available and fully tested product is in its infancy so it’s dangerous to make factual medical claims however people have reported it helping with back pain, depression and in some cases cancer. There have also been some stories hitting the national news that it helps with seizures too. The future if CBD is indeed very interesting and the more good news stories we hear, the better.
Like Cannabis Seeds, CBD is legal to buy in the UK, however it does come with conditions. If it has been derived from industrial hemp that is EU approved and contains no more that 0.2% THC then it’s perfectly legal to sell / buy. (Information from NetDoctor.com).
