We asked Royal Queen Seeds a number of questions about their company and the cannabis industry, the feedback is featured below:

1. Do you have any new strains planned for this year?

In 2019 we launched our USA Premium line, with some of our top selling strains, to mention one, our Royal Gorilla. Another product to highlight in this year is our Solomatic, a strain low in THC but reach in CBD. Right now, we’re working on the new launches for 2020… We can only advance… that there will be a bunch on new products!

2. What do you feel differentiates you from your competitors?

We’ve a vast catalogue of varieties, currently more than 70 and we keep on growing! We are always looking for new genetics for our endless growers all over the world. Another difference is the information we publish. Our main goal with all the articles, videos and pictures we post is to help growers to expand their knowledge related to cannabis and how to grow better our strain.

3. Do you think we will continue to see Cannabis laws relaxed over the World and if so, how will this affect the seed market?  

We think so, as the big players are starting to open to cannabis and the current experience is really positive (USA or Canada for example). Legalizing a product as Cannabis has proven to have very positive benefits for the society: no black markets, taxes are paid so more benefits for the governments, it will create a new industry and jobs (other industries are also seeing the benefits of Cannabis, not only pharmaceutical, also cosmetic industry) and many more. This trend is highly positive for seed producers as Cannabis producers will be looking for high quality seeds and always trying to innovate with new varieties.

4. Can you tell us what you think of the Cannabis Seed industry right now?

Saying that it’s a growing market it would be a cliché, but it is really what it is right now. Cannabis had since a hundred years ago a really bad reputation that step by step it has been proven that it is not so, and the industry is becoming a very professional sector with lots of benefits (economical and for the society). So currently the name of Cannabis is being “cleaned up” and it only need to be legalized properly as other products, for example as alcohol, as it is common sense that Cannabis cannot be sold to underage and some precautions have to be taken while consuming, so some regulations are needed.

5. What do you feel the future holds for the industry?

It’s difficult to guess, as our hope is that the industry will continue growing and developing, this would be the natural progress, but personally…. We see a promising industry, as we mention before, full of benefits for the society and one day we will see how stupid was considering Cannabis as a dangerous drug, when currently there are other legal products more dangerous for the health than Cannabis (alcohol, sugars, fats in food, etc.).
