Cannabis on LinkedIn - Discount Cannabis Seeds

Welcome to my 4th blog in my mini-series where I look at Cannabis Community and where they hang out on Social Media. Today, we look at a place where you might not initially think of going for your Cannabis content and that’s LinkedIn.

This blog follows my initial posts on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. More platforms will be explored in the coming weeks too.

LinkedIn

LinkedIn was launched in 2003, according to Wikipedia. Personally, I’ve been on the platform since 2007. It’s sometimes described as Facebook for business. You have your profile set up backed up with your career history and you can connect and communicate with fellow professionals. There are also various groups that you can join too and publications that you can follow to keep up with the latest news.

In this post, I look at 5 accounts, groups and pages that you should follow.

Cannabis Industry Journal - https://www.linkedin.com/groups/8334287/

The Cannabis Industry Journal is an extension of their online Journal.

If you join the group, you can see who runs the group and connect with those professionals too. The group itself has around 4,700 members so there’s a lot of people in there interested in the subject. You might find new business contacts, find out new information or get yourself more well known within the group, so if you’re on LinkedIn, give it a try. As the laws are changing so is the stigma, so go ahead and get involved.

Cheryl Shuman - https://www.linkedin.com/in/cherylshuman/

I’ve mentioned Cheryl before on another platform, but she’s also on LinkedIn too. Cheryl is considered to be the Queen of Cannabis and has many interests in the industry. It shows the power of LinkedIn that she has a profile here too.  Cheryl is considered an activist and given her high profile, she takes the positive message of Cannabis and legalisation to TV, so the more support she can be given, the better for all.

Marijuana Business Daily - https://www.linkedin.com/company/medical-marijuana-business-daily/

If you want to stay up to date with the latest industry news, then Marijuana Business Daily will help you do that. Founded in 2011, they’ve been dispensing the most trusted news on the net. Another plus point to following a company like this is that you can reach out and connect with some of the staff that work there. For example, you might have a piece of news that you’d like to share, you could contact the individual directly who might be able to get your story out there.

‘Cannabiz’ Connections https://www.linkedin.com/search/results/all/?keywords=cannabiz&origin=GLOBAL_SEARCH_HEADER

One of my favourite buzzwords is ’Cannabiz’. It’s not just me that uses it, I can assure you. If you do a search on LinkedIn, you will find other Cannabis professionals use the term. If you’re looking to increase your connections on LinkedIn, with those in the industry, then take a look through some of the connections listed here, to see if you have anything in common. If you do reach out to someone, make sure you send an introductory message and let them know why you’d like to connect.

CBD & Cannabis Professional Business Network - https://www.linkedin.com/groups/13612286/

If you don’t know where to start with your Cannabis journey on LinkedIn, I recommend this group. The main focus of the group is to connect fellow professionals and offer a place where you can get help to the various questions you might have about the industry. Topics that they cover range from legislation, regulation and compliance updates to analysis of industry trends, as well as expert advice on cultivation, marketing, financial topics, legal issues and more.
